Now that I am accustomed to the friendliness of Bredonborough, it was a surprise to be reminded of Southern attitude: unfriendly serving persons with nary a smile from any of them, and the impression that customers were an unwelcome intrusion in their lives. … playing music in a commercial context is very hard for me. the musical choices are countered by the business choices, so there is very little money involved; and the musical situation is undermined for me by the constant photography, video ‘phones & bootlegging & you-tubing. the music is what keeps me alive on the road and, when this is damaged, there is no reason for me to continue.
but, i have no idea what will happen after august 17 - and very happy not to know! life is good & open.
